Because of these challenging times, we made a decision to take charge of our own financial future, find a good mentor, learn from the experience and enjoy the journey along the way.
Reinventing ourselves as investors means taking hands-on control over our lives and funds. Antonio Santillan has become, not only our Fund Manager, but also our mentor and friend. He's the most positive, open and energetic person I've met. He's giving us the tools we need to one day invest in real estate on our own. Donna and I are driving the neighborhoods, walking properties, researching and doing due diligence, running the numbers – all under Antonio's expert tutelage. Every day is a new and exciting experience.
Not only are we learning how to one day be our own portfolio managers, we're also contributing directly to the success of our own investments in the Fund.
How many fund managers invite you to look over their shoulders while they invest your money? How many welcome the opportunity to sit with you over coffee to discuss exactly what's going on with your investment?
I can name countless numbers of equity mutual funds (some are legendary in name) I have invested my retirement funds in and I was always at the mercy of the funds' managers. My retirement wealth was hinged on how well – or poorly – they heeded the changing winds of the market place. In other words: like other novice investors across the U.S., I paid the price if a particular manager lacked the vision to recognize a paradigm shift in the making. Many of you reading this know what I am talking about from those shocking revelations of opening your quarterly statements and watching the numbers slide downward along with your home value!
The difference between success and failure for an investor is in acknowledging the need for change. As investors in Adams Financial Investment Fund LLC, we are taking charge!
